SOON AE CHUN
Soon Ae Chun is a professor and the director of the Information Systems and Informatics (ISI) Program at the City University of New York (CUNY) College of Staten Island (CSI), and a professor of the Computer Science Ph.D. Program and Data Science Master’s Program at the Graduate Center (GC) of the City University of New York. She is the director of the National Science Foundation (NSF)-sponsored Information Security Research and Education Lab (iSecure Lab). She is the recipient of a 2018 Fulbright Senior Scholarship. Dr. Chun received the 2014 CSI President’s Dolphin Award for Outstanding Scholarly Achievement. She employs her specialty in data management, data analytics, machine learning and knowledge-based approaches in addressing security, privacy, digital government, and digital heath issues. She served as the president of the Digital Government Society (DGS), and a founding editor-in-chief of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Digital Government: Research and Practice (DGOV) journal. Her research has been funded by NSF (National Science Foundation), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), New Jersey State government agencies, National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF), and Professional Staff Congress (PSC)-CUNY. She is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and ACM.
